Last week i popped down to Cambridge again to paint some bordings next to a church for Blight Society, which unlike the last trip to Ely ended up being a stupidly hot and sunny day. Since we had a nice churchy theme going, my piece for a change wasn't in the slightest dark or depressing! :-)

I had to leave before everything around me had been finished, so am still waiting for a complete image, but here are a couple to be going on with. My parts were the sunset scene & stone cherub.

Also, i'm currently having a bit of a clearout, and was about to chuck a load of stencils away when i thought i'd have a play with them instead. So here we a quick experiment using a three later stencil, lightly sprayed & overlayed with a bit of a gap between them. You can see the layered effect better in the second pic. I might do something a bit funkier with the other stencils, so watch this space!

Blight Society Collab wall in Ely

I recently had a little trip over to Ely to help doodle on a wall as organised by Blight Society.

I'd not actually planned anything for this one, and since the owner of the wall had seen & requested my stone lions anyway, i thought it would be a good chance to reuse them!

So inbetween dashing inside to avoid the bouts of torrential rain i managed to the get following pieces up!

These stone lions heads are based on a fountain i took images of in Prague. All the stone architecture over there inspired me to try a bit of a series, which ended up starting with these two heads. The series is based on the four elements, these being Fire & Earth. I've done a couple of variations of these now, so on to Air and/or Water next!

Another great event by the upfest lot, certainly as good as last year i thought, but a lot more spread out so maybe harder to catch everyone's work. Always good to catch up with the usual suspects!

OK, thanks again to everyone who helped kick start the whole photography thing!

The 'Old Coke' release seemed to go down pretty well, so i'll be following that up with another photography release from the same set of dark dingy underground tunnel photos.

Next up is 'The Window', it will be an edition of 6 for £30 each on Hahnemuhle Pearl paper, which has a nice textured finish to it. Size to be confirmed, but will be approx 14x11" again.

Photography Release

Ok, so, photography! Since i've had a few people now asking about my photography, i'm considering trying a very limited print release.

I've found a printer i'm more than happy with, and am planning on offering approximately 12x16" in size (may vary depending on image in question), unframed.

But before i go ahead with the first print, i thought i'd get a quick view on if anyone would be interested in requesting any image in particular? I'm going to give people the choice to request any image from my photography flickr as an edition of 3 for £30 each, or £50 for a one off print. Once an image has been used as part of an edition or one-off it will be retired.

Bear in mind that not everything there is suitable for a print release (lots of random stuff on there!), but i will be generating each image again from the source raw file so as to get the best possible quality.

Releasing my photography is completely new to me, so i'm more than willing to hear any comments, good or bad!

Silence Lies Within - Test Pieces & Releases!

Before my recent piece at the paint jam, i was working on the same image in a smaller scale. Here's a bit of a rundown of the different versions from start to finish.

First, i was playing with different colours, some with spray paint, some with acrylic. From some of these earlier experiments i made an edition of three on Vinyl.

These will be at the Vinyl Killers 8 show.

Next i made a similar edition of three on some record boxes i had lying around. The first will be going to a charity auction (more details soon), the second will be on my shop shortly for £20 (http://dell.bigcartel.com), and the third, unfortunately having a hole through the box, will be given away in a competition!

The final version is on a larger canvas, and is starting to look a bit more like my piece from the paint jam. This is an original, and will be available from Blight Society soon! (http://www.blightsociety.co.uk/)

This canvas will be the first in a short series based on the four elements, this being fire... coming soon, earth!

Open City Photo Exhibition

Well i've been a bit lazy recently as far as stencilling goes, but am about to get back to it and finish a stencil i started about two months ago!

Think this will be the last time i'll be using spray paint in a while though, i'm sick of my spare room being a mess, so am going to have a play with acrylics for a while!

In other news, i'm having a bit of a clear out, which means three canvases i've had lying around for ages will be hitting ebay for 1p + p&p shortly... keep your eyes open, i'm not expecting them to go for much, and i'll be thowing in a few little extras too!

Finally got round to doing my latest piece. It's called 'Adjusts Itself To Midnight', and is on a big heavy found bit of wood.

I've no idea what i'm going to do with this one, it's probably too heavy to post, but i'll most likely get round to doing a version on canvas soon!
